W.S. Badcock Corporation has opened its South Boston location at 2205 Wilborn Avenue, adding to its 360-plus stores in the Southeastern United States.
A ribbon cutting event will be held at 6 p.m. on July 1 when members of the company’s executive team and community leaders will gather together to commemorate the new store. During this occasion, there will be speeches and a donation to Families Embracing Autism Together (F.E.A.T) as a goodwill gesture to the local community.
Many Badcock Home Furniture & More stores are individually owned and operated by a large network of dealer owners. This particular store is owned by Paul Myers, who owns multiple stores in Midway, Mocksville and Salisbury, North Carolina, as well as Danville.
Myers said, “To me these five stores aren’t a job. I love helping the community and doing what I do.”
The 115-year-old Badcock Home Furniture & More brand has seen explosive growth in recent history, and with this not being Myers’ first store, he is contributing to that continued progression.
Rob Burnette, CEO and president, said, “We are excited to be expanding our presence in the Virginia market. South Boston is a great community, and we are excited to be a part of it.”
The public is welcome to join the grand opening ribbon cutting celebration at 6 p.m. on July 1 at the new store located at 2205 Wilborn Ave. in South Boston.
A free $50 merchandise card will be given to the first 100 families in attendance.
