Centerville McDonald’s holds ribbon-cutting

The official ribbon cutting ceremony for the renovated McDonald’s in Centerville took place Saturday, with South Boston Mayor Ed Owens wielding the scissors. Others present at the ribbon cutting include Centerville McDonald’s franchise owner Mike Freeman, South Boston Town Manager Tom Raab, South Boston Town Councilman Michael Byrd, Halifax County Chamber of Commerce President Mitzi McCormick, Charles Anderson of Charles Anderson Lawn Care and McDonald’s employees. Freeman said sales have increased approximately 30 percent at the Centerville McDonald’s in the three months since the restaurant has re-opened. Freeman confirmed the McDonald’s in Riverdale is next up for renovation, perhaps starting in May.
