Job fair

More than 400 jobs will be available at the Community-Wide Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at the Halifax County Fairgrounds.

On May 25, job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with 25 employers representing more than 400 available jobs at the Community-Wide Job Fair.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Halifax County Fairgrounds.

The Community-Wide Job Fair is sponsored by the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce, county of Halifax, Halifax County Public Schools, Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County, Southern Virginia Higher Education Center and Virginia Career Works.

“The job fair is free to the public,” said Chamber President Mitzi McCormick. “We are encouraging job seekers to bring copies of their resume and dress professionally. This is their opportunity to meet face-to-face with employers with available jobs.”

Job openings include HVAC, health care, manufacturing, hospitality, government and customer service and more.

Job seekers and Halifax County High School graduating seniors can visit fair to see the list of participating businesses, as well as what positions are available, the hiring process and information required from the applicants.
