Sponsoring events is a way to get involved in the community.
It provides an avenue to reach out to existing and new customers.
The annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival is a summer event that brings together dozens of sponsors for more than three decades. This year, the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce is working to find as many opportunities as possible to highlight the numerous sponsors for the popular ‘Lope Fest.
“In a small-town environment where word-of-mouth is even more pronounced, sponsoring community events can bring added exposure to a company or organization brand,” said Mitzi McCormick, president of Halifax County Chamber of Commerce. “Without our sponsors, our events would not be successful, so we are working hard to provide maximum exposure for sponsors of the Virginia Cantaloupe Festival,” she said. “We are truly grateful for all of our sponsors and their generous support.”
According to McCormick, more than 65 sponsors have stepped up to provide either monetary or in-kind contributions for the 41st Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival.
“It’s really amazing to see how our local and regional businesses step up to sponsor our Virginia Cantaloupe Festival,” said Nancy Long, chairperson of the festival planning committee.
“The popularity of this summer event seems to grow, year after year, and our planning committee is very invested in the quality of this event,” she said. “We want sponsors to feel confident in their sponsorship and we want festival-goers to clearly see the businesses who step up to make the event possible.”
All the sponsors of this year’s Virginia Cantaloupe Festival are being featured on the event website as well as individually recognized on Facebook. The chamber leadership and festival planning committee encourage the public to check out all the sponsors and the business services they offer.
