Just look for the pink flamingoes, and customers will find Sweet Cee’s Shops on Main, the third SoBo Start-Up! business in downtown South Boston to open its doors.
The store specializes in “homemade gifts and all of the cool stuff you can find in this state and county,” said co-owner Candace Baskervill.
“We do a lot of personalized gifts and can do monograms of just about anything you want, including your favorite high school team. We also have our own line of body soaps, body scrubs, candles and wax mounts.”
Sweet Cee’s also has Virginia is For Lovers merchandise, artwork from area artists and refinished furniture for sale, according to Baskervill.
Sweet Cee’s offers a wide variety of customized apparel, decals and gifts. It also has local artisans and vendors selling their handmade and high quality gifts, jewelry and décor.
Baskervill, a high school soccer coach who also has two business degrees, said she needed a way to express her creativity, and being involved with a business that reflects that creativity was the way to go for her.
“It’s bright, and it’s fun,” she explained.
“Inventory changes every day, and you won’t know what you’ll find in here.”
Located at 441 Main Street in South Boston, Sweet Cee’s is open Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“As we get closer to the holidays, we’ll pick up more hours,” said Baskervill.
