The Halifax County High School jayvee baseball team scored 10 runs off 15 hits to defeat Tunstall High School 10-0 in Dry Fork on Tuesday.

Greyson Parker went 4-4 with two RBIs for the Comets, while Dakii Chandler (double) and Tyler Collins each had two hits and an RBI, and Preston Simpson had a hit and RBI.

Trey Comer had one hit (double) and one RBI, Christian Newton had one hit and two RBIs, and Cameron Carson and Aaron Crutchfield each added a base hit.

Comets’ batters struck out only once in six innings, and they recorded four stolen bases (Simpson, Newton, Comer, Carson).

The Comets scored twice in the first inning, once in the second, three times in the fifth inning and four times in the sixth inning to help end the game.

Comer went the distance on the mound allowing one hit in six innings with eight strikeouts and no walks.
