Piedmont Access to Health Services, Inc. (PATHS) will begin using this mobile unit to provide community COVID-19 vaccinations starting Friday. This mobile unit, which has both a medical exam room and dental operatory room, will serve PATHS service areas: Danville, Martinsville, Chatham, South Boston and Boydton in the vaccination efforts.

Piedmont Access to Health Services, Inc. (PATHS) will begin using their mobile unit to provide community COVID-19 vaccinations,starting Friday.

PATHS has provided over 2,400 COVID-19 vaccinations at community clinics for patients, staff, public officials, local EMS, medical and dental workers, as well as some other area residents. 

Marsha Mendenhall, CEO said, “I am so proud of our staff and volunteers who have worked diligently on elaborate distribution efforts.” 

The mobile unit, which has both a medical exam room and dental operatory room, will serve PATHS service areas: Danville, Martinsville, Chatham, South Boston and Boydton in the vaccination efforts.

“We are excited to meet the needs of our patients out in locations easiest for them to access,” added Shani Gaylord, director of community programs.

Persons, aged 18 and older, in the Virginia Department of Health’s Phase 1A and 1B can email patients@pathsinc.org to get on the waitlist. Phase 1A includes Healthcare Personnel and Long-Term Care Facility Residents.

Phase 1B includes Frontline Essential Workers such as:

• Police, fire and hazmat;  

• Corrections and homeless shelter workers; 

• Childcare/preK-12 teachers/staff (public and private); 

• Food and agriculture (including veterinarians); 

• Manufacturing; 

• Grocery store workers; 

• Public transit workers; 

• Mail carriers (USPS and private); 

• Officials needed to maintain continuity of government including judges and public-facing judicial workers; 

• Clergy/faith leaders; and

• Janitorial/Cleaning staff.

Phase 1B also includes persons, aged 65 and older; people aged 16 through 64 years with a high risk medical condition or disability that increases their risk of severe illness from COVID-19; people living in correctional facilities, homeless shelters and migrant labor camps.
