Animal nutrition specialist to talk at Goats Galore

Dr. Jeannette Moore, professor and undergraduate teaching coordinator, Department of Animal Science, North Carolina State University, will be a featured speaker at Goats Galore Field Day Saturday at the Halifax County Ag Center.
Moore’s talk, beginning at 12:45 p.m., will focus on the goat’s GI tract and how different forages and supplements benefit and/or cause problems for goats.
The field day and breeders’ stock sale sponsored by the Southern Virginia Meat Goat Association and held 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. also will feature other speakers, a herd dog demonstration, goat chili and cheese tastings, Amish food vendors and door prizes.
