Lowe’s Heroes donated smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and nine-volt batteries to South Boston Fire Department Friday morning to help with the fire department’s fire prevention program.
According to Lowe’s Store Manager Simon Jones the items will be distributed to needy families in the area.
Lowe’s Heroes is a companywide volunteer initiative that each year allows Lowe’s employees nationwide to dedicate thousands of volunteer hours to address individual safety concerns in their own communities.
Lowe’s Heroes teams partner with local organizations to educate their community about safety, with programs focusing on such issues as child safety, fire safety and senior safety.
