The Southern Piedmont Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) will sponsor a Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Anderson Computer Room at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. This free workshop is open to any individual who wants to attend college in the summer 2010 term and need assistance in completing the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Students attending this workshop should bring a copy of their 2008 Federal Income Taxes, W-2s, and any documents of untaxable income received in 2008.
Dependent students will need their parents’ 2008 Federal Income Taxes and supplementary income information as well. Other items needed include social security number, date of birth, marriage status and driver’s license.
Financial Aid Workshops for students entering college in the fall 2010 term will be held in February and requires 2009 tax information. Parents and students are urged to complete their 2009 taxes as soon as possible.
