Five county residents were arrested this week on various drug charges, according to Virginia State Police Special Agent M. T. Campbell, Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force coordinator.
Task force members arrested Garnett Taylor Lloyd of Nathalie on Monday, Campbell said. Lloyd was charged with one count each of distribution of marijuana and conspiracy to distribute marijuana, he added.
Task force members, with assistance from the South Boston Police Department, arrested Margie Lester of South Boston on Monday, the task force coordinator said.
She was charged with four counts of distribution of Oxycodone and one count each of distribution of crack cocaine and conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone.
Lester was held on a $7,500 bond, Campbell said.
Dwayne Cole of South Boston was arrested by task force members on Wednesday, the coordinator said. He was charged with one count of possession of Oxycodone and was released on a $3,500 unsecured bond, Campbell added.
Also on Wednesday, task force members arrested Kenneth Harris of Alton. He was charged with two counts of distribution of a Schedule II substance (cocaine), second or subsequent offense, Campbell said.
Harris was held on a $5,000 bond, he added.
Members of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested Deshane Brown of Halifax Wednesday for the task force, Campbell said.
Brown was charged with three counts of distribution of a Schedule II substance (cocaine) and two counts of distribution of imitation cocaine.
Brown was held on a $5,000 secured bond, the special agent said.
