South Boston man faces assault charge

A 30-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of assault while applying pressure, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.
• Timothy Brad Puryear of Link Puryear Road was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Aug. 18, and Deputy W. F. Cross served the warrant Thursday.
• Ronnie Carson Beadles, 31, of Thornton’s Road, Nathalie was issued two misdemeanor surety capiases.
The alleged offenses occurred July 23, and Deputy J. O. Tanner Jr. served the capiases Thursday.
• William Jamail Easley, 32, of Ballou Trail, Halifax faces misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license, driving under the influence and refusing a blood/ breath test.
The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants the same day.
• Travis Clay Scheier, 33, of Huell Matthews Highway, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.
The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Clarke served the warrant the same day.
• Wendell Lee Guthrie, 58, of Nathalie faces a charge of being drunk in public, according to South Boston Police Office records.
Guthrie was charged with the alleged offense Friday.
• Linda Gail Matzke, 55, of South Boston faces a charge of assault and battery.
Matzke was charged with the alleged offense Sunday and was held on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
• Kevlin Lonell Palmer, 31, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public.
Palmer was charged with the alleged offense Sunday.
• Lamark Deshuan Walton, 23, of South Boston faces a charge of assault and battery.
Walton was charged with the alleged offense Monday and was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
• Kristy Cash Williams, 31, of South Boston faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.
Williams was charged with the alleged offense Monday.
• Markia Antionette Townes, 21, of South Boston faces two charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Townes was charged with the alleged offense Monday.
