South Boston woman convicted of shoplifting

A 24-year-old South Boston woman, Shameka Precious Irby, was convicted Tuesday in Halifax County Circuit Court of felony shoplifting from Walmart.
Sentencing for Irby was continued to the January court term, with the court ordering the defendant to not ever return to Walmart.
Other court cases
• Richard Anthony Snead, 25, of Charlotte Court House had a charge against him for a probation violation dismissed Tuesday after a review.
• Samuel Link Woody II, 34, of Irmo, S.C, had charges against him for conspiring to distribute cocaine and cocaine distribution nol prossed Tuesday upon a motion by the commonwealth.
