Waynesboro man charged with assault

A 68-year-old Waynesboro man faces a misdemeanor assault charge, according to South Boston Police Office records.
Steve W. Perkins was arrested by Officer J. B. Throckmorton on a warrant from Waynesboro Thursday for the alleged offense that occurred Christmas Eve.
• Blane Jamar Key, 24, of South Boston faces a charge of assault of a family member.
The alleged incident occurred Saturday on Vaughan Street in South Boston, and Cpl. T. B. White served the warrant.
• Dexter Edward Mills, 26, of South Boston faces charges of trespassing and being drunk in public.
The alleged incident occurred Saturday at Willow Oaks Apartments on Poplar Creek Street, and Officer M. W. Bowen served the warrant.
• James Earl Locklear, 42, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public.
The alleged incident occurred Saturday at Applebee’s Restaurant in South Boston, and Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant.
