A 51-year-old South Boston man was charged with driving under the influence following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday afternoon on Highway 58, one-tenth of a mile west of Highway 501.
According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper L. V. Pambid, Robert L. Burns was driving a 1995 Ford 150 when he ran off the road to the right, struck a fence and then struck a well house.
Burns was not injured.
Pambid estimated damage to the Ford at $3,000 and damage to the fence and well house at $4,000.
A 24-year-old Halifax woman was charged with reckless driving/failure to maintain proper control following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Sunday morning on Alton Post Office Road.
According to an accident report filed by Pambid, Stacy Johnson was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am when she swerved to the left, lost control, ran off the road and struck a ditch.
Johnson was not injured.
Pambid estimated damage to the Pontiac at $3,000.
A 20-year-old Sutherlin man was charged with failing to yield the right of way following a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday morning at the intersection of Highway 58 and Commerce Lane.
According to an accident report filed by Pambid, Casey L. Saunders was driving a 2006 Scion XB when he made a left turn in front of a 2009 Dodge Ram driven by 48-year-old Timothy Householder of Skipwith and was struck.
Saunders was injured and transported, and Householder was not hurt.
Pambid estimated damage to the Scion at $8,000 and damage to the Dodge at $10,000.
