Rev. Frank Carson Riley Jr. of South Boston died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1923 in Orange and was 88 years old. He was the son of the late Rev. Frank C. Riley Sr. and the late Ethel Pierpoint Riley and was married to Elizabeth S. Riley who survives. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth S. Riley of South Boston; one daughter, Carol Yowell of Charlottesville; four sons, F. Carson Riley III of Richmond, Robert R. Riley of Richmond, Peter P. Riley of Nelson and Lyle A. Riley of Powhatan; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
