Mrs. Alma Edith Davis Roberts of Stone Mountain, Ga. and formerly of Halifax County died Feb. 24 2012 in Snellville, Ga. at the age of 82. Mrs. Roberts was born in Halifax County on July 1, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Louis Matthew Davis and Mrs. Georgie Anna Moore Davis. She was married to the late Mr. Lawrence Edward Roberts and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Alma Edith Davis Roberts is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Sealy of White Plains, N.Y., Mrs. Dolores Darby and husband Leslie of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Mrs. Lisa Harris and husband Troy of White Plains, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Maria Gaillard and husband William of Charleston, S.C.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Howard Clark Sr. and Mr. Lloyd Cheeks; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Brenda White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted cousin, Ms. Susie Merchant.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by two daughters, Juanita Robinson and Shernita Robertson; two sisters, Oneita Calloway and Josephine Carey; and six brothers, Louis, Lawrence, Johnnie, Marshall Lee, Doc Lany and George Davis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Edith Davis Roberts will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. with services at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis and Moore Family Cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1164 Stith Lane, Clover.
