Mr. Stanley Britton Sr. of South Main Street, Clover, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his residence at the age of 64. Mr. Britton was born in Halifax County on March 26, 1947 to Mrs. Julia Mayo Britton and the late Mr. Aaron Wilson Britton. He was married to Mrs. Royann Poole Britton and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Britton is survived by his wife: Mrs. Royann Britton of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Brogdon and husband Gary of Randolph, Mrs. Cassandra Lacks and husband Tony of Clover, and Mrs. Michele Dillard and husband William of Monroe, N.C.; three sons, Mr. Stanley Britton Jr. and wife Vonda, Mr. Aaron Britton and wife Rosalee, all of South Boston, and Mr. Marco Hill of Philadelphia, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mothe of Clover; one sister, Mrs. Karen Garrett and husband Alphonso of Clover; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Edwyna Powell; one uncle, Mr. John Wesley Britton; one aunt, Mrs. Beatrice Britton; two nieces; a special family friend, Ms. Brittany Webb; three devoted cousins, Mr. Michael Britton, Mr. Brian Britton and Mr. Dwight Britton Jr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Mr. Melvin Crowder.
Funeral services for Mr. Britton will be Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 207 South Main Street, Clover.
