Mrs. Irene Puckett Hogan of Virgilina died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Hogan was born in Meadows of Dan on Feb. 2, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Jonah Puckett and Mrs. Laurie Cochram Puckett. Her husband, Mr. James Thomas Hogan, preceded her in death along with one son, Mr. Carl Edward Hogan; two sisters, Ruth Ayers and Dorothy Hooker; four brothers, Edwin Puckett, Louthan “Buddy” Puckett, James Puckett and Ward Puckett.
Mrs. Hogan was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church, mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Hogan is survived by two daughters, Loretta Roberts and husband Elbert of Bahama, N.C. and Anita Talley of Virgilina; four sons, Thomas Hogan, Jimmie Hogan and wife Carol, Wayne Hogan and wife Sue, all of Clarksville, and Larry Hogan of Virgilina; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Susan Goad, of Stuart.
Services were held at Aarons Creek Baptist Church, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Joe McDowell officiated. Interment followed in church cemetery.
