Mr. Willie James Harris Jr., affectionately known as #1Soldier of Reidsville, N.C., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, N.C. at the age of 36.
Mr. Harris was born in Fort Campbell, Ky. on Jan. 14, 1976 and was the son of Mr. Willie J. Harris Sr., Mrs. Brenda Pointer Harris and Mrs. Sharon P. Harris. He was a member of Bible Way Church in Milton, N.C. and was employed by Gildan Activewear Distribution Center in Eden, N.C.
Mr. Harris is survived by two children, Mr. Zevontae Harris and Ms. Zekeyda Anderson; his parents, Mr. Willie J. Harris Sr. and wife Sharon, and Mrs. Brenda P. Harris; three brothers, Mr. Jerome Harris of Danville, Mr. Louis (TJ) Muse (Laura) of McLeansville, N.C. and Mr. Kevin Harris (Clarissa) of Eden, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Veronica Harris (Derrick) of Atlanta, Ga. and Mrs. Andrea Brown (Cornell) of Greensboro, N.C.; his grandmother, Mrs. May M. Pointer of Alton; one godson, Mr. Kyliest Mitchell; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Willie James Harris Jr. will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 Brandon Chapel Road, Alton, Va 24520. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Sharon Harris, 137 Wyatt Loop, Reidsville, N.C. Public viewing for family and friends will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
