Mrs. Evelena Edmonds “Dee Dee” Pegram of Bane Street, South Boston, died Nov. 28, 2012 at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., at the age of 62.
Mrs. Pegram was born in Halifax County on March 22, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Welford Edmonds and Mrs. Evelena White Edmonds. She was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pegram is survived by two children, Mr. Darnell Pegram of Keysville and Mr. Jermaine Pegram of South Boston; one brother, Mr. William Edmonds, and wife Catherine of Scottsburg; one sister, Mrs. Hallie Dismuke, and husband Johnnie of South Boston; three nieces, Ms. Lanessa Edmonds, Mrs. Nakisha D. Easley and Mrs. Mashonda D. Richardson; one nephew, Mr. Chavis Edmonds; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pegram will be held Monday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church in Halifax with the Rev. Dr. William F. Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie and Hallie Dismuke, 1800 Chamberlain Street, South Boston.
