Mr. William Russell Wilkerson Jr. of McPhail Drive, South Boston died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 64.
Mr. Wilkerson was born in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 12, 1948 and was the son of Mrs. Regina Johnson Wilkerson and the late Mr. William Clem Wilkerson. He was married to Mrs. Annie King Wilkerson and was a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Wilkerson, of the home; three daughters, Ms. Belinda Wilkerson and Mrs. Wanda Jones and husband Floyd, all of Riverview, Fla. and Mrs. Shameka Houston and husband Namon of Newport News; two sons, Mr. Marcus King of South Boston and Mr. Timothy W. Wilkerson and wife Victoria of Woodbridge; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Regina J. Wilkerson; three sisters, Mrs. Nanette R. Martin and Ms. Paula T. Wilkerson, both of Albany, N.Y., and Evangelist Arlecia N. Jones and husband Amos of South Boston; two brothers, Mr. Sherman Wilkerson and Mr. Michael H. Wilkerson and wife Cassandra, both of South Boston; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Olivia Duncan and husband Clarence; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Reginald C. Wilkerson and Mr. Leonard D. Wilkerson.
Funeral services for Mr. William Russell Wilkerson Jr. will be Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Elder William Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #99.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 1200 McPail Drive, South Boston.
