Mr. Howard Hagood Moorman of Nathalie died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 71.
Mr. Moorman was born in Halifax County on Jan. 6, 1942 to the late Mr. Stafford Moorman and Mrs. Hattie Chandler Moorman. He was married to the late Mrs. Marion Marie Lawson Moorman. For over 25 years, Mr. Moorman was employed by Burruss Lumber Company and later retired from Dollar General Distribution Center.
Mr. Moorman is survived by two sons, Mr. Harold Moorman and Mr. Jermaine Moorman, both of Nathalie; one brother, Mr. Theodore Moorman, of Nathalie; one sister, Mrs. Geneva Coles, of Charlottesville; five step-daughters, Ms. Louise Venable of Nathalie, Ms. Mary Moorman, Ms. Patricia Crews, Ms. Annie Small and Ms. Dorothy Lawson, all of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives and friends including the devoted Ms. Reva Monroe, Ms. Amanda Bates, Ms. Debra Hensley and Ms. Linda Ewell.
In addition to his wife and parents, his siblings, Mr. Clinton Moorman, Mrs. Barbara Chambers, Mrs. Jean Cousin and Mr. Glen Moorman, preceded Mr. Moorman in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Howard Hagood Moorman will be Sunday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax. Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel.
