Mrs. Mary Cosby Clements of Vernon Hill died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at The Woodview nursing home.
She was born in Halifax County on Oct. 15, 1922 and was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Dabney Cosby and Hilda Compton Cosby Farmer and was married to James Calvin Clements who preceded her in death last month. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school.
She was an avid gardener who loved flowers.
For everyone who knew her, she was an angel on earth.
She was survived by one son,
Jimmy Clements, of Halifax; one daughter, Janet Clements, of Richmond; one aunt, Gladys Thompson, of South Boston.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pat Neilson conducting the service. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends at the church immediately following the service.
