Mr. Terry Daniel Meadows Sr. of South Boston died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in South Boston on March 31, 1950 and was 63 years of age. He was the son of the late Isaiah Meadows and Annie Daniel Meadows and is survived by his wife, Gale Vernon Meadows.
Mr. Meadows attended Trinity Pentecostal Church, was a member of Faulkner Memorial Lodge#91, Sons of the American Legion, played and coached South Boston Dixie Youth Baseball and was on the Halifax County Sports Hall of Fame selection committee. He was employed for 43 years with Century Link.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Terry Daniel Meadows Jr. and Shannon of Amherst, and their children, Bryce Daniel and Riley Grace, and Todd Jonathan Meadows and Liz of Roanoke, and their daughter, Piper Grey; one sister, Karen Harris, and Robbie of Halifax; and one brother, Steven D. Meadows and Jackie of South Boston.
Funeral services for Mr. Meadows will be held at Powell Funeral Home chapel Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Steve Dyer, Dan Ward and Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home, 3130 East Hyco Road, South Boston.
