Mr. Jesse Evans Cousins of Mosley Ferry Road, Clover died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 71.
Mr. Cousins was born in Halifax County on May 3, 1941 and was the son of the late Mr. Jesse James Cousins and Mrs. Bettie Jane Wilborn Pace Cousins. He was married to the late Mrs. Gloria Hill Cousins and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Clover.
Mr. Cousins is survived by two daughters, Ms. Druisilla Rice of Nathalie and Mrs. Stephanie Reed Stokes and husband Larry of Clover; two sons, Mr. Michael Lee Cousins of Roanoke and Mr. Maurice Cousins and wife Jessie of Clover; one brother, Mr. Ricky Cousins, of Nathalie; three sisters, Ms. Queen Ester Dismuke of Clover, Ms. Catherine Greene of Nathalie and Ms. Gladys Fleming of Richmond; one aunt, Mrs. Daisy Chandler, of South Boston; two uncles, Mr. Joseph Wilborn and wife Vivian and Mr. Jacob Wilborn, all of Clover; one devoted cousin, Ms. Alberta Wilborn, of Clover; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the devoted Ms. Doris Davis of Nathalie and Mr. Paul Torain of Scottsburg.
In addition to his wife and parents, one son, Mr. Rodney Cousins, preceded Mr. Cousins in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Evans Cousins will be held Thursday, May 2, at 2 p.m. with services at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 1094 Mosley Ferry Road, Clover.
