Ruth Terry Jones of South Boston passed away peacefully Friday, July 26, 2013, at The Woodview Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 20, 1938 to the late Joseph Terry and Belle Davis Terry and was 74 years of age.
Mrs. Jones was married to the late Samuel Jones Sr. and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charlie Terry (Hilda), Samuel Jones Jr. (Alberta), and Erik Jones; three daughters, Anita Jones, Lettie Allen and Melissa Jones; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Aubrey Terry (Joby), Marvin Terry and Bobby Terry (Angela); four sisters, Verneda Gillespie (Jimmie), Jean Sims, Linda Reed and Florence Dyson; two sisters-in-law; five aunts, two uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at County Line Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Pastor Otis R. Dillard conducting the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Samuel Jones Jr., 1219 Fenton Street, South Boston.
Public viewing will be Thursday, Aug. 1, at Dunn and Sons Funeral Home, 540 N. Main Street, Halifax from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
