The members of Halifax County Little Theatre are getting together with the staff at Berry Hill Resort to present an interactive evening of the cult classic movie, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
The film, a parody send-up of 50’s and 60’s Si-Fi movies, will be shown with local artists in full RHPS gear, with audience members encouraged to join in as they like.
Berry Hill and HCLT are awaiting a crowd for the event and have planned a full evening of activities both before and during the film. The doors open at 8:30 p.m. with food and drinks available from a cash bar. There will be Rocky Horror Picture Show-costumed hosts to mingle with guests, who are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters. A costume contest will be held for those wishing to participate.
The movie has been running for the last 45 years, and many places have midnight showings weekly. Part of the experience involves props that can be used to make the viewers feel like a part of the cast. Prop bags are available for $10 from HCLT venders, and instructions for their use will be provided prior to the show.
Members of HCLT and other local artists have worked to create RHPS themed center pieces for the tables (mostly “adult themed.”) There will be a silent auction of these prized items prior to the show.
The adventure is available one night only on Friday, Oct. 30. Tickets for this entertaining and decidedly adult evening are available for $20. If people want to stay over, they can check out the ticket and room package deal at Berry Hill.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, seating is limited for this event.
Precautions are in effect to assure safety for patrons. Guests are asked to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect.
Tickets are available from Berry Hill Resort at 434-517-7000 or by calling Halifax County Little Theatre at 434-470-0980.
