Mary Bagwell of Southern Plenty has created a new twist on the basic chicken-pot pie for the upcoming “Murder at the Pie Auction.”
The public is urged to make reservations today for her delicious classic southern pot pie with an updated puff pastry crust. Bagwell’s pie includes chicken, ham, sweet English peas and red potatoes in a cream sauce. The dinner also includes a salad of mixed greens and apple pie for desert.
When calling The Prizery for dinner theatre tickets remember to order one’s choice of a bottle of red or white wine that will be placed on the patron’s table when he or she arrives.
Throughout the evening bid, participants will have the opportunity to bid on lots of locally created home made pies including sweet potato, key lime, apple and other delicious choices.
Craig Jones from Tine Bell’s Kitchen and Catering will present his sweet potato pie with leaf pastry cutouts, and Stacy Wilson of Bistro 1888 will have her delicious key lime pie for auction.
These bakers and many more will have pies available to bid on, and showgoers also can participate in a cork pull.
The dinner theatre play “Murder at the Pie Auction” is a funny offering about the must competitive, cutthroat pie competition around the pie circuit and will be performed by talented local thespians featuring Emily Vaughan, Kristen Humphries, Stephanie Flowers, Annika Orenstein, Kelly Ahmed, Michelle Hunter, Devin Hall, Caleb Flowers, Kirk Compton, Sharonda Claiborne and Ryland Clark.
The public is invited to enjoy this evening of food and fun with two nights to choose from, Friday, Oct. 18, or Saturday, Oct. 19. Both evenings of fun begin at 6 p.m.
