George and Winnifred Banks, played by Aaron Moore and Abigail Young, and their children, Jane and Michael, played by local performers Victoria Montes-Bradley and Carrington Thackston, find themselves in need of a Nanny.
So, magically in pops Mary Poppins played by Kelly Glyptis.
Moore, Young and Glyptis have all performed in The Prizery in previous seasons.
Just graduating from Valdosta State University, Moore appeared in last season’s “Oklahoma” and “Gypsy,” and he returns this season as choreographer for “Mary Poppins” and Mr. George Banks.
Everyone’s favorite grandma in “The Adams Family,” Young returns to play Mrs. Banks in “Mary Poppins.” Young also will use her extensive experience in children’s theatre to help mentor Montes-Bradley and Thackston as they prepare for their lead roles as Jane and Michael Banks.
Glyptis returns to The Prizery stage as Mary Poppins after just completing a year traveling the United States performing in the National tour of “The Sound of Music” as the opera singer, ensemble and understudy to Mother Superior.
Glypstis’ many roles at The Prizery include Nettie in “Carousel,” the Witch in “Into the Woods,” Morticia in “The Addams Family” and Anita in “West Side Story.”
She also served as fight coordinator for “West Side Story.”
In addition to the role of Mary Poppins, she will appear as Tonya in “Mamma Mia” later this summer.
