The marriage of Miss Amy Dawn Moore, daughter of Michael and Kay Moore of Chase City, to Justin Len Julian Wilkins, son of Joel and Tammy Wilkins of Nelson, took place on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 5:30 in the evening on the Wilkins Farm in Nelson.

The Rev. Justin Hicks, pastor of the bride, officiated the ceremony. The ceremony took place before an archway of sunflowers and mint flower accents. The barn was decorated with rustic touches and sunflowers.

Music during the ceremony included segments from “Yours” by Russel Dickerson, “Better Today” by Coffee Anderson and “Meant to Be” by Florida Georgia Line.

Special music was presented by the groom’s aunt, Tina Emery, who sang “From the Ground Up” originally by Dan and Shay.

The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a modified A-line full lace dress with a beaded belt. Additional beading bordered the veil. She carried a bouquet of silk sunflowers, mint stems, pearl sprays from her mother’s own bouquet and greens.

Miss Tina Moore, sister of the bride, of Chase City, was maid of honor. She wore a knee length navy blue lace top with chiffon bottom dress. She carried a nosegay similar to the bride’s with silk sunflowers, mint stem accents, baby’s breath and greens.

Bridesmaids were Miss Lindsey Wilkins, sister of the groom, of South Hill, Miss Katie Smith, friend of the bride, of Clarksville, Miss Ami Chalmers, friend of the bride, of Chase City, and Miss Sarah Wagstaff, friend of the bride, of Elkridge, Maryland. They wore dresses identical to the maid of honor and carried similar nosegays. The flower girl was Piper Clark, niece of the groom, who also wore a navy blue dress with a crown of navy and white flowers with flowing ribbons.

The groom wore khakis with a white long sleeve shirt rolled up with a navy blue tie and wore a silk sunflower boutonniere.

Joel Wilkins, father of the groom of Nelson, was best man.

Other groomsmen included Mr. Ron Overbey, friend of the groom, of Cornwall, North Carolina, Mr. Jeffrey Blackwell, cousin of the groom, of Oxford, North Carolina, Mr. Brad Arrington, friend of the groom, of Nelson, and Mr. Scott Wilkins, cousin of the groom, of Nelson. They also wore khakis with a solid white long sleeve shirt rolled up with a navy blue tie and wore silk sunflower boutonnieres. The ring bearer was Wyatt Wilkins, cousin of the groom, who also wore khakis and a white shirt with navy suspenders and a bow tie.

After the ceremony, the attendees enjoyed barbecue and fixings. Food was catered and prepared by several friends and family members of both the groom and bride.
