Queen Esther Logan

Queen Esther Logan

On Sept. 23, 2018 Queen Esther Logan celebrated a milestone birthday with her children, grandchildren, relatives, church family and friends at the Gretna Health and Rehab Center in Gretna.

Logan was born on Sept. 24, 1918 in Mecklenburg County (South Hill). She is one of eight children, all who have predeceased her.

She met her husband, Zebie Logan, from Halifax County and was married in 1939. She and her husband moved to Halifax County in 1939 where they farmed for many years. They were married for 74 years. She also worked as a cafeteria cook at the old Rosa Elementary School and later at Lane Furniture Company until she retired.

There were two children, James Logan and Bertha Logan, both of Nathalie.

Logan joined Millstone Baptist Church where she served in many ministries, especially the senior choir where she served for over 40 years.

On Aug. 7, 2015 she suffered a stroke, which left her unable to walk or speak. However, God showed favor on her life and allowed her to live to celebrate this awesome milestone.

She loves God, and she has lived her life accordingly with a good heart and a willing hand.

The family thanks the Gretna Health and Rehab Center for their care and support.
