A lesson on pollinators is set for Sept. 17 as part of the Outdoor Education Series.

Halifax Soil and Water Conservation District and Halifax County 4-H are collaborating for an Outdoor Education Series.

This series will be held at the large pond shelter at Edmunds Park on Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m.

The session also will be available through Zoom online for anyone interested in joining in that capacity. The lessons planned so far are pollinators on Sept. 17, soil and water on Sept. 24, wildlife on Oct. 1 and food chain on Oct. 8.

Based on the participation, the series may extend for several more weeks.

The program will adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions. Tables that can be used will be clearly marked with tablecloths. There will be face masks available for anyone who may need one.

Parents are asked to stay during the sessions.

Registration is due by Friday. To sign up, call Melissa Waller at (434)476-7923 or email educationspecialist@halifaxswcd.org or email Hunter Martin at hunterm5@vt.edu.
