“Halifax County’s 39th Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival is quickly approaching, so be sure to get your 2019 T-shirts today,” said Josie Turcotte, Halifax County Chamber of Commerice office and event coordinator.
This year’s T-shirt was inspired by Halifax County’s own talented youth. Nine Halifax County High School students submitted designs to help develop the idea for the T-shirt. After researching the history of the Cantaloupe Festival and what it means to the community, tourism and economy, the students inspired a design they believe reflects the tradition of the festival.
Christina Knapp of Hellow Yellow used this inspiration to design a timeless logo that’ll be sure to impress festivalgoers.
“I am always happy to help out with the Cantaloupe Festival T-shirt. I have done it for three years now, and it’s always a great experience to work with the chamber and see people wearing my design around town,” said Knapp.
Nookie Green at Distinct Impressions once again brought the design to life. This year’s colors are coral silk and heathered sapphire.
Shirts are $20 in advance at the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce office and $25 the day of the festival.
“Don’t miss out on the opportunity to represent Halifax County’s favorite summer celebration brought to you by Halifax County Chamber of Commerce and Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital at this year’s Virginia Cantaloupe Festival on Friday, July 26,” Turcotte said.
