The 39th Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival is almost a sell-out, and there are plenty of reasons as to why.

For many, this is an event Southern Virginia residents don’t want to miss. Now in its 39th year, the Virginia Cantaloupe Festival has seen increased popularity with tickets selling out farther in advance of the event date.

A new stage, great beverage selections, food trucks and high energy entertainment are sure to have festival attendees in high gear.

Corporate sponsor Danville Distributing is bringing new beverage options for the 39th year including Bold Rock, Highland, Legend, Natty Greene’s, Starr Hill and Wicked Weed, along with staple domestics, Seltzers, Ritas and wines from Homeplace Vineyard.

Ticket prices include Bud Light, Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, Michelob Gold, Ritas and Wine along with five, three ounce samples of craft beverages, local roasted corn cantaloupe, ice cream, water and Pepsi products.

Full craft beverages can be purchased at an additional cost of $3 a ticket or four for $10.

The 2019 Virginia Cantaloupe Festival will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center.

Advanced tickets are only $35 and may be purchased at the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce, Halifax County-South Boston Visitor Center, URW South Boston and Danville, WAKG or online at www.valopefest.com.
