The Tinkers Car Club will hold its annual fall cruz-in from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Halifax Square Shopping Center parking lot located on Highway 501 North, South Boston.

Italian Delight and Frutopia are sponsoring the event again this year.

Admission is free to the public, and all vintage, classic vehicles and motorcycle owners are welcome to participate at no charge.

“Come out and enjoy seeing the vehicles on display and talk to the owners about the collector car hobby and their particular vehicles,” said Wayne Bowen, president of the Tinkers Car Club.

Bowen expressed his appreciation to all the car, truck and motorcycle owners who have supported the club’s cruz-ins over the last 30 plus years, and he looks forward to a large turnout of vehicles and visitors for this cruz-in as well.

“The club is indebted to Andrea Ruotolo-Sarnataro, president of Italian Delight Family Restaurant, Inc., and to Vinny Sarnataro, president of Frutopia, for sponsoring our cruz-ins for so many years and their continuing support and encouragement for what our club does for the community,” he added.

The Tinkers use donations and membership dues exclusively to help needy families and individuals in the Halifax County area throughout the year. Italian Delight and Frutopia support this effort by the Tinkers in donating a portion of the proceeds from their food sales during the cruz-in hours to the club’s long standing program that helps needy families and individuals.

Bowen concluded, “It is gratifying to all club members and a privilege for our club to assist area residents who need a helping hand, and the ones that we have helped over the years are truly grateful.”
