The 17th annual Walk for Hope to benefit the Halifax County Cancer Association and those battling cancer in Halifax County has kicked off its campion to raise funds for their biggest fundraiser of the year.

All funds raised stay in Halifax County to provide direct services, financial support and education to those affected by cancer.

“We are an absolutely phenomenal organization bringing hope to our community and those facing cancer. The HCCA’s survival depends on our fundraising efforts and the kindness, love and support from our community,” said Rhonda Reaves, director of the HCCA.

Gloster Furniture is a platinum sponsor of this year’s Walk for Hope. Their interest in this organization and willingness to help the HCCA and the local community is such a blessing, according to Reaves.

“It has been such a pleasure working with Alex Dunn, human resource manager and meeting many members of the Gloster team. Along with their sponsorship they have donated several wonderful items for our silent auction to take place the day of the walk. In addition they have a team of over 20 walking,” said Reaves.

“We are looking so forward to this year’s HCCA Walk for Hope and thank the many who have already contributed to this wonderful cause,” she added.

Visit the HCCA’s Facebook page and/or website at www.hccahope.org to see a list of others who have donated.

“We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s event to show support to those facing cancer in Halifax County,” the director added.
