On Saturday, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Winn’s Creek Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The need for blood donations of all types has never been greater.
Persons 17 years of age or older who are in good health are encouraged to come donate blood. CDC guidelines will be followed for COVID-19 precautions.
Be sure to eat breakfast and drink plenty of liquids on the day of donation. Positive donor ID is required, and all volunteers, staff and donors are required to wear a mask. Red Cross personnel will take temperatures and conduct brief health screening before allowing entry to the drive. Every effort is being made to keep volunteers, staff and donors safe and infection-free.
As health officials work to limit the spread of coronavirus, the Red Cross are working to prevent another public health issue—a precariously low blood supply for patients.
To schedule an appointment, call Joani Layman at 434-476-7982, use the blood donor app or go online to www.redcrossblood.org and search 24558.
