The NRA Board of Directors recently recognized Megan Goin as the National Winner of the 2019 Brownells/NRA Outstanding Achievement Youth Award.
This award is presented to “…shooting sports participants who take an active part in their community and shooting sports through individual contributions, educational pursuits and accomplishments.”
Goin has been an active member of the Appomattox 4-H Shooting Education Club for the past nine years. During this time, she has competed in numerous local, district and state matches and competitions in the rifle and shotgun disciplines. Additionally, she has received her Virginia 4-H Shotgun Instructor Certification.
During her last few years in 4-H, Goin was selected to be a Virginia 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador as well as a National 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador.
Goin has enjoyed her time in 4-H Shooting Sports while learning the importance of gun safety, handling and control as well as working with other youth, teaching safety first, by assisting with shooting education at the annual 4-H Shooting Camp.
Goins hard work and dedication has earned her the rating of a Double Distinguished Expert in rifle and shotgun through the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program.
Goin is the daughter of DeWitt and Stacey Goin of Prospect and the granddaughter of Robert (Bob) and Paigie Allnutt of Halifax.
