Dan River Baptist Church to host song service

Dan River Baptist Church will have a song service at 4 p.m. on Sunday. A variety of different styles of Christian music —contemporary, southern gospel and traditional gospel.  Performing will be Jenny Plitt, The Worship Center, River Creek Band and New Testament of Halifax. Refreshment will be served after the service. 

The church is located at 1228 Dan River Church Road, Halifax. 

Baptist General Convention Of Virginia to hold meeting

Baptist General Convention Of Virginia District E-2 men and women will meet at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. 

Membership churches are invited to be in attendance. Visitors are always welcome.

Mulberry Baptist Church to hold revival

Mulberry Baptist Church will have revival services on the next three Sundays . The worship service will begin at 7 p.m. on all three Sundays.

A covered dish dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. on March 8 in the church fellowship hall to jumpstart the revival services. The Rev. Lynn Marstin, pastor at Midway Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. 

Cecil Hazelwood will provide special music on Sunday. Linda Short and Carolyn Anderson will provide music on March 15. Special music also will be provided on March 22. 

Halifax County Ushers Union & Vicinity to meet

The Halifax County Ushers Union & Vicinity  will meet at St. Mark Baptist Church, Alton on Saturday for its annual workshop.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Opening session will start at 9. Ushers are to appear in uniform. Visitors are always welcome. 

The fellowship hour with lunch will conclude the annual session.

‘Morning Glory Worship Experience’ slated Saturday

Hangout Friday session set

Hangout Fridays will be held at Berry Hill Baptist Church from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday (today). 

The event is free and open to those 16 and older. 

Hunter Martin with 4-H will be setting up four escape rooms for participants, and TPI power initiative plans to provide a skit about Christian identity.  

Feleshia Ballou as well as the Jeter Chapel Baptist Church praise team plans to provide music. The Rev. Braxton Braswell and Jeffrey Owen of Crystal Hill Baptist Church plan to speak. 

Members of Berry Hill Baptist Church will provide food. 

Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church to host revival 

Rodgers Chapel Baptist Church will hold revival services at 7 p.m. March 15-18.

 Speakers will be the Rev. Andy Ferguson on Sunday, the Rev. Zak Ford on Monday, the Rev. Dustin Francis on Tuesday and the Rev. W. D. (Dib) Mills on Wednesday.

Special music will be provided each night.  

New Saint Luke Apostle to sell plate lunches

The New Saint Luke Apostle Church will be selling plate lunch/dinners at the church on Ridge Street in South Boston beginning at 10:30 a.m. until on Saturday.

The menu will include chitterlings, fish, pig feet, chicken and sides of potato salad, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, string beans, various desserts and drinks.
