The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region Halifax County grant cycle is open for grant proposals from 501c3 organizations and government entities serving Halifax County and South Boston. 

All applications must be submitted online by Friday, Sept. 28.

One or two grants are typically awarded of $2,000 or less per cycle.

In order to apply for the Halifax County grant cycle, the organization must serve the citizens of Halifax County and must have a have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in good standing.

The application is a two-part process including a general application which is similar to an organization profile page/introduction for broad material about the organization as a whole rather than the project/program for which the organization is requesting funds.

The second portion of the application, the opportunity specific application, is where specific information about the program or project is entered.

Both the general application and the opportunity specific application must be completed in order to for the application to be submitted. [Note: Applicants will not have access to the opportunity specific application in the system until the general application is completed.] 

Updates can be made to applications until the cycle’s end date. 

The Halifax County grant cycle closes Sept. 28. 

A grant reception is usually held mid-January when checks are presented to the finalists.
