Several custom painted picnic tables by local artists will be auctioned off at the Halifax Farmers Market on Saturday. The proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Halifax County-South Boston Public Library System.

The tables are currently on display at the town of Halifax Farmers Market. Using a silent auction process, bids may be placed on the tables from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Halifax Farmers Market.

The library also will have a table at the market on Saturday with information available about upcoming library programs, pencils and stickers for children, Summer Reading Program T-shirts for sale and much more.

“Stop by the town of Halifax Farmers Market on Saturday and place a bid on a picnic table. This is a great opportunity to support the library and own a very special work of art,” said Jay Stephens, director of the Halifax County-South Boston Public Library System.
