The Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts will be awarding four $1,000 scholarships.

Two are awarded on behalf of the VASWCD Education Foundation and two are awarded on behalf of the Virginia Chapter of the Soil & Water Conservation Society.

The Halifax Soil & Water Conservation District can select one applicant to be considered for one of these four statewide scholarship opportunities.

Additionally, the Halifax SWCD will be awarding three scholarships.

This local scholarship opportunity includes two J. T. Burton Natural Resources Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 and one Halifax SWCD Memorial Scholarship on the amount of $1,500. Scholarship applicants should be majoring in, or show a strong desire to major in, a college course curriculum related to natural resource conservation and/or environmental studies.

A single application should be submitted to the Halifax SWCD office by March 1 to be considered for all scholarship opportunities listed above.
