Well, the flowers are in bloom so I think spring is on the way. This week I’m going to do one from a lady at church. She has passed on, but this lady sure could cook! I hope you enjoy.

NEW ORLEANS CASSEROLE

1 stick butter 

1 medium onion chopped

1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck browned

1 can mushroom soup

1 can mushrooms

1 can tomato sauce

1 t garlic salt

1 t salt

1 t chili powder

1/4 t pepper

2 T Texas Pete hot sauce

1 - 8 ounce bag egg noodles cooked

1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese

Melt butter. Brown onion in butter for five minutes. Add cooked, drained meat, soup, mushrooms, tomato sauce and spices. Add drained noodles and half of cheese. Sprinkle rest on top. Cook for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

BROWN SUGAR CHESS PIE

2 eggs

2 T flour

4 T melted butter

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup milk

1 t vanilla

1 unbaked pie crust

Mix all together and pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
