Well, with all this mess going on sometimes it’s hard to find the things we need at the store.

This week I’m going to do some if you can’t find bread. These come from some ladies that knew how cook. Enjoy. From a sweet lady that was in my church years ago, Joyce M.

SPOON ROLLS

1 pkg. dry yeast

1 egg

3 T sugar

1 1/2 sticks margarine

2 cups warm water

2 cups self rising flour

Put the yeast in warm water. Melt the margarine and sugar in large bowl. Add beaten egg and dissolved yeast. Add flour. Place in refrigerator in a tightly covered bowl. To cook, drop by spoonful into a well greased muffin tin. Fill about half full. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. This can be cooked immediately, or it will keep four to five days in refrigerator.

FLATCAKES OR FRIED CORNBREAD

1 cup flour

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup water

Pinch salt

Mix all together. Shape into flat cakes. Fry until golden brown. Eat plain or with jelly or melted cheese.

To the lady who asked about the oil in the honey bun cake, you do not use any.

Also let all us pray for our country right now with all this going around.

It’s been a lot of changes we are not used to, so be safe and like I always say live, laugh and love, and remember to spend time with family and friends. God bless you all.
