Well, you have two days to get those flowers ordered, buy the candy and find a place to take your sweethearts or plan a meal at home. This week I’m going to do some you might like to try.
PEPPERED RIB EYE STEAKS
3/4 t fresh ground black pepper
1 t dried thyme
1 1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 t red pepper
1/2 t lemon pepper
1/2 t dried parsley flakes
2 - 1 1/2 inch thick rib eye steaks
1 T olive oil
Combine first seven ingredients. Brush steaks with olive oil. Rub with pepper mixture. Cover and chill one hour. Grill steaks covered with grill lid over medium heat about 10 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. Makes two servings.
SWEET FOR YOUR SWEETHEART MILLIONAIRES
1 - 14 ounce package caramels
2 T milk
2 cups chopped pecans
1 - 10 ounce package chocolate mini kisses
Heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Stir in pecans and drop by teaspoons on to buttered baking sheet. Let stand until firm. Microwave milk chocolate in a quart bowl on high one minute. Dip caramel candies into melted chocolate allowing excess to drip on buttered baking sheet. Will makes four dozen.
