I enjoyed my first time going to church services in a parking lot. They did a great service Sunday morning and the singing was pretty. This week I’m going do one my aunt gave me years ago. 

HOMEMADE MAYONNAISE

1 egg

1 T fresh lemon juice

1 t prepared mustard

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup olive oil

1/4 t salt

pinch pepper

pinch cayenne pepper

In a blender, blend the egg, lemon juice and mustard for about 30 seconds. While the machine is running, slowly add oil until it becomes thick. Add salt and peppers and  blend for about 20 seconds.

This can be stored covered for one week. (Note: if you are worried about using the  raw egg, use pasteurized. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

CREAMY BACON PEA SALAD

12 stripes cook bacon chopped

4 cup frozen sweet peas

1/2 cup cheddar cheese

1/2 onion chopped

dressing 

1/2 cup sour cream

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1 t sugar

2 T vinegar

salt pepper to taste

Mix all together and chill for one hour or more before serving. (Note: can add boiled chopped eggs or cubed ham.)
