Well, things are getting a little better, but still be safe when you go out this week. 

I’m going to do some I hope you like. When it’s hot, I like things that are easy to fix and cool.


1 cup cold turkey strips

1 apple unpeeled and diced

3 T vegetable oil

2 T white wine vinegar

1 small garlic clove minced

1/4 t dry mustard

1/8 t ginger ground

Dash pepper

2 cups lettuce torn

2 T slivered almonds toasted

Combine turkey and apple in a bowl. Combine oil and next five ingredients and shake well. Pour over the turkey and apples. Toss well, cover and refrigerate. Just before serving, toss mixture with lettuce and sprinkle with the almonds. Makes two servings.



1 pound lean ground beef

1 - 10 1/2 ounce can chicken gumbo soup undiluted

2 T prepared mustard

2 T ketchup 

4 hamburger buns toasted

1/4 cup sliced green onions

Cook ground beef in skillet until meat is brown. Stir to crumble. Add soup, mustard and ketchup. Stir well. Cook five to 10 minutes. Serve on hamburger buns. Sprinkle with green onions. Makes four servings.
