A 35-year-old Nathalie woman, Amanda Dawn Buchanan, was indicted Thursday by a Halifax County Circuit Court Grand Jury on three felony counts involving producing and/or distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

An indictment is issued by a grand jury against an individual who is charged with a crime. Before the individual may be convicted, the charge must be proved at trial beyond a reasonable doubt. The purpose of an indictment is to inform an accused individual of the charge against him or her so that the person will be able to prepare a defense.

The alleged offenses occurred May 3, according to court records.

w Wayne Dickerson Reese Jr., 56, of Nathalie was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony, one felony count of possessing ammunition or explosive material after having been convicted of a felony and one misdemeanor count of brandishing a firearm.

The alleged offenses occurred April 28, according to court records.

w Richard Anthony Jones, 33, of Clover was indicted Thursday on one felony count of forgery of a public record and misdemeanor counts of giving a false identity to impede a criminal investigation, a third or subsequent offense within 10 years of driving on a revoked operator’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

The alleged offenses occurred June 19, according to court records.

w John Thomas Holcombe, 35, of Nathalie was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing a Schedule I/II controlled substance, one felony count of possessing a firearm while possessing a Schedule I/II controlled substance or more than one pound of marijuana and misdemeanor counts of disregarding a signal from law enforcement to stop, reckless driving and driving on a revoked operator’s license.

The alleged offenses occurred Aug. 1, 2018, according to court records.

w Kevin Monroe Murray, 43, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of enhanced petty larceny.

w Dominic Coles Powell, 25, of Nathalie was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing a Schedule I/II controlled substance.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 21, according to court records.

w Jennifer Lynn Rogers, 37, of Alton was indicted Thursday on two felony counts of possessing a Schedule I/II controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possessing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

w David Matthew Owen, 33, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance.

w Nathaniel G. Owen, aka Nathanial G. Owen, 36, was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.
