A 50-year-old Richmond man, Zenji Walton, was indicted Thursday on one felony count of obtaining money under false pretenses, one felony count of credit card fraud and one felony count of credit card theft.

The alleged offenses occurred between Oct. 10 and Oct. 29, 2018, according to court records.

An indictment is issued by a grand jury against an individual who is charged with a crime. Before the individual may be convicted, the charge must be proved at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.

The purpose of an indictment is to inform an accused individual of the charge against him or her so that the person will be able to prepare a defense.

• Stephanie Brooke Smith, 34, of Clover was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

The alleged offense occurred Aug. 7, according to court records.

• Danny Curtis Spurlock, 49, of Clover was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing cocaine and one misdemeanor count of possessing controlled paraphernalia.

The alleged offenses occurred March 26, according to court records.

• Eugene Monroe Barksdale, 44, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of a second or subsequent offense of identity theft.

The alleged offense occurred June 22, according to court records.

• Stanley Calvin Francis Jr., 46, of Sutherlin, was indicted Thursday on one felony count of driving after having been declared a habitual offender.

The alleged offense occurred March 26, according to court records.

• Earl Lamont Jordan, 48, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on two felony counts of a second or more offense for grand larceny.

The alleged offenses occurred May 18, according to court records.

• Raashaun De’Shay Newman, 33, of Halifax was indicted Thursday on one felony count of a second or more offense of shoplifting.

The alleged offense occurred July 22, according to court records.

• John R. Scheiderer Jr., 42, of Vernon Hill was indicted Thursday on two felony counts of grand larceny.

The alleged offenses occurred in a period from March 19 to May 2, according to court records.

• Neal Grady Sibley, 30, of Halifax was indicted Thursday on one felony count of possessing heroin, one felony count of possessing fentanyl, one felony count of possessing hydromorphone and one misdemeanor count of possessing controlled paraphernalia.

The alleged offenses occurred April 4, according to court records.

• Eileen Marie Slemp, 37, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of motor vehicle theft.

The alleged offense occurred June 12, according to court records.

• Ashley Dawn West, 24, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of robbery, and one felony count of grand larceny.

The alleged offenses occurred Aug. 2, according to court records.

• Jerman Donell Younger, 26, of South Boston was indicted Thursday on one felony count of child neglect and one felony count of eluding police.

The alleged offenses occurred July 26, according to court records.
